2. Receive your personalised quote — detailed and with no obligation. It covers every item: the procedure, sedation and the medical report, and explains the scenario of biopsies or polyp removal.
3. Book your appointment — with no insurance authorisation needed, scheduling is fast; waiting times are typically short.
4. On the day — bring your doctor's referral, your passport or ID, and come accompanied (mandatory with sedation). You will leave with your medical report in hand.

Coming from abroad?

Many of our international patients come from the UK, France and North Africa. What you should know: your doctor's referral from your home country is accepted as the medical indication for the procedure. We provide a detailed invoice and full medical report so you can claim reimbursement from your private insurer at home if your policy covers treatment abroad. Waiting times are typically much shorter than public-system waiting lists. And the whole process — from quote to report — can be handled in English or French.

Our endoscopy unit is not a standalone clinic: it operates inside Hospital Quirónsalud Barcelona, a leading private hospital. In practice, that means everything you might ever need is already on-site — hospital admission if your procedure requires observation, an intensive care unit, and surgical and anaesthesiology teams in the same building. Complications in digestive endoscopy are rare, but if anything ever needs attention, you are already in the right place. For patients travelling from abroad, this is the difference between a procedure room and a hospital.

This service was founded by Dr. J. R. Armengol Miró, a pioneer of digestive endoscopy who trained a good part of the endoscopists practising in Barcelona today. Patients travelled from across Spain — and from abroad — to be treated by him. His founding principle remains ours half a century later: excellence.
